Thanks for reading my mock draft! PLEASE comment telling me what you think, and if you would make any changes. Also follow @dirtybirdfanpage on Instagram! Thanks!
IMPORTANT NOTE: The reason I think the Falcons go D- Line in round one, is because I think they will address O-line in FA.
Round 1: Jadeveon Clowney, DE. South Carolina. Why: Clowney is the type of player the the Falcons need. A dominant force on defense, that should draw double teams by most offenses. The Falcons would be lucky to get this type of player at #6, but with the teams in need of a QB picking 1 - 5, I think it is very possible Clown-town could be coming to the ATL.
Other options: 1. Anthony Barr. OLB, UCLA 2. Jake Matthews. OT, TAMU.
Round 2: Cyril Richardson, OG. Baylor. Why: The number one guard in the draft, Cyril Richardson, would fill a huge need for the Falcons. Richardson known for his run blocking would really help the Falcons become the power running team they should be.
Other options: 1. Antonio Richardson, OT, Tenn. 2. Ra'shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota.
Round 3: Andre Williams, RB. Boston College. Why: The Heisman candidate rushed for over 2,100 yards in his senior year, and might be the perfect replacement for SJax who will probably retire in the next two years.
Other options: 1. Carlos Hyde (If avail.), RB, Ohio State, Will Sutton, DT, ASU.
Round 4: Brandon Coleman, WR, Rutgers. Why: Could be the eventual replacement for Roddy White. Tall and pretty fast (6'5" and runs a 4.58). This kid could end up being a huge steal.
Other options: Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech. Aaron Donald. DT, Pitt.
Round 5: Caraun Reid, DT, Princeton. Why: The Falcons have three DT's hitting free agency this offseason, and two of them are starters. Even if they bring back two of them (hopefully Corey and Peria), it would be nice to add some depth at this position.
Other options: Weston Richburg, C, Col. State, Ja'waun James, OT, Tennesee.
Round 6: Logan Thomas, QB, Virginia Tech. Why: The Falcons still do not have a solid back up behind Matt Ryan. Logan Thomas could be that and more. I have to admit I really want him. He has a great combination speed and size, plus a huge arm.
Other options: Deion Belue , CB, Alabama. Ross Cockrell, CB, Duke.
Round 7: Chris Davis, CB, Auburn. Why: If this name sounds familiar, you probably watched the Alabama vs. Auburn game. Yes, that Chris Davis. We do need depth at the CB position, and if anything Davis could fit into that PR role that has been next to nothing the past two seasons.
Other options: Ricardo Allen, CB, Purdue. Kentavious Gates, OT, Georgia.
