As expected, left tackle Sam Baker and running back Steven Jackson are both inactive for today's game. Also on the list are offensive lineman Harland Gunn, safeties Kemal Ishmael and Zeke Motta, defensive tackle Travian Robertson, and linebacker Jamar Chaney.

None of the players listed on the inactive report are terribly surprising. We knew previously that Baker and Jackson would be out. Some fans expressed surprise that Chaney is inactive, but he was just signed a couple of days ago and probably needs time to get up to speed.
Jay Adams further clarified that both Roddy White and Julio Jones are active and will start, and that Jacquizz Rodgers will get the start at running back. Lamar Holmes will start in place of Sam Baker, and Jeremy Trueblood will fill in for Holmes at right tackle. We will, of course, also see Jonathan Massaquoi getting the start at defensive end opposite Osi Umenyiora, and Joplo Bartu and Stephen Nicholas will be starting at outside linebacker. Asante Samuel was limited in practice yesterday, and appears to be healthy enough to get the start at cornerback.
Are you at all surprised by today's inactives report?
