Last night overall was pleasing. We saw high amounts of activity from our running backs, and an explosive battle for the 4th and 5th slots at Wide Receiver. So, who stays and who goes home after last nights performances? From what the fans have seen, the 4th slot at receiver will more than likely go to Drew Davis. But the real argument or concern would be who we select for our 5th slot. Kevin Cone has a good chance of making the roster. Another interesting position battle is who takes the 3rd and 4th slot at Running Back? Prediction show Jason Snelling takes 3rd and Josh Vaughan sneaks into the 4th spot. The final issue and most likely the largest issue that the Falcons face is the Linebacker Core. Brian Banks hasn't done enough to earn a spot, and Paul Worillow has made a very strong case for himself. But Joplo Bartu is right with him. At this point, its anyone's spot to earn. This is what we know... Both Desmond Trufant and Robert Alford will make the team , and hopefully prosper enough to be the lockdown corners Thomas Dimitroff expects them to be. Lamar Holmes has locked up the starting role due to the injury of Mike Johnson. This was expected anyways. Osi Umenyiora has proven he can be just as productive if not more than John Abraham was. Our Defensive line is in the best shape it has ever been, so fans should have nothing to worry about this season. And Jeremy Shelly will most likely be cut due to last nights game, and the fact we have Matt Bryant chilling out on the sidelines. Keep in mind this ALL comes from a single fans perspective that is only sixteen. So be gentle when criticizing my thoughts and ideas! I encourage you to share your own and correct me if I made any mistakes. Rise Up Atlanta!
