Falcons Roster Cuts: Atlanta Lets 11 Players Go Ahead Of 75 Man Cut Deadline

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

Sunday brought an early bloodbath for the Atlanta Falcons.

The Atlanta Falcons got an early jump on Tuesday's 4 p.m. cut deadline, trimming the roster down from 89 to 78 by making 11 cuts on Sunday afternoon.

There are no big names in this group, as expected. Most are UDFAs from this year or the last and didn't receive enough playing time to make a real impact.

Nick Clancy fell behind Paul Worrilow and Joplo Bartu. Seth Doege never really got on the field while Sean Renfree received plenty of snaps. Guys like Jeff Nady, Donald Russell and Cam Handerson were crowded out at their positions by more established players. I wish them all well, but there are no surprises.

The last three cuts could bring a couple of surprises, because there's still some popular UDFAs kicking around. Brian Banks, Ronnie Wingo, Josh Vaughan and the crop of rookie receivers are all on the cusp, and whether they make it through this first round unscathed likely depends on how they look when the coaches scrutinize their film in the next couple of days.

Your reaction to the cuts, and your prediction for the last three?
