NFL Draft 2013: Cornelius Washington To Visit Atlanta Falcons

Could Washington be a late-round sleeper? - USA TODAY Sports

The senior out of UGA will make his way to Flowery Branch today to show Atlanta's front office what he's got.

With the NFL Draft now less than one month away, we're starting to get a better idea of whom the Falcons are seriously considering once they're on the clock.

One of those players could be Cornelius Washington, the defensive end / outside linebacker coming out of Georgia. Earlier today, it was reported that the Falcons will hold a private workout for the hybrid defender:

Washington is an interesting case. He showed a good bit of promise during his junior year with the Bulldogs, but took a couple steps back as a senior and was generally viewed as a contributor rather than starter on Todd Grantham's defense. Many consider him a one-dimensional, third down specialist type of player.

But his excellent combine numbers (4.55 40-yard dash, 36 bench reps) have piqued some interest, and he currently projects as a fourth or fifth-round pick.

That versatility, coupled with the fact that Atlanta likes to rotate players on defense, could make Washington a solid Day Three sleeper pick for the Falcons, who could still use depth at defensive end or outside linebacker.

Also, go Brian Banks.
