Like most I was a bit upset with the Trufant trade up. I thought that we would be able to snag him at thirty without the trade that being said I can see the need to get the player you want. Then yesterday the Alford pick came down and my heart skipped a beat. I knew we needed corners but with all the pass rushing talent on the board I thought I had misheard, but looking at who the Falcons had brought into interviews via Waltersfootball it really should not have been a shock. Atlanta only worked out 3 guys that have gone in the draft so far at defensive end Tank Carradine, Datone Jones and Corey Lemonier and Lemonier shot up draft boards towards the end to be honest it seems that TD always planned on getting a pass rusher in the later rounds if you look at who they worked out in Sean Porter, Malliciah Goodman, and Cornelius Washington it seems they are trying to mine a pass rushing gem from the dregs after looking at all 3 i think they all have upside though Washington has a DUI and really did very little at Georgia even though he ran a 4.55 40 benched 36 times pretty much a workout monster but seriously had no production in 4 yrs on a good Georgia team. Mallicah on the other hand has 11 inch hands and 37 inch arms to go with his 6 ft 4 frame 273 pounds seriously if you google him his hands come up. He worked his way up and had a good senior season but posted so so combine numbers 4.87 40, 19 reps but at his pro day he ran in the 4.67 range and last but not least we have Sean Porter from Texas A@M had a better 2011 when he was a 3-4 Rush LB he had 9.5 sacks but they changed over to a 4-3 and he played a traditional will lb and did it well so he has versatility ran in the 4.63 range on his pro day. The purpose of this article is to say i think TD will be pulling a pass rusher from these 3 most likely Porter and Maliciah but we shall see.
