I just ran across this opinion article from FootballNation.com, which may not be the best sports website but the author does bring up a decent talking point. It's not surprising that some sports writer would mention firing Mike Smith, there are teams that have found success after firing a coach that makes regular post season appearances. However, the only case I can think of where that has resulted in SuperBowl success is when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fired Tony Dungy.
I know Mike Smith has his flaws, some may say he coaches too conservatively , but I feel like a new coach would set our franchise back and not forward. On the other hand, Arthur Blank is in win now mode and if we don't win a playoff game in the 2013 postseason (we will win in the postseason), I can see Blank firing him. In fact, Smith probably would have been fired if we had not beaten Seattle.
What on your thoughts on this?
