On Twitter and at Flowery Branch, reactions abound.
This day fits a bit funereal for Falcons fans, so it's no surprise there are a lot of reactions across the Falconsverse, many of them stunned and sad.
I wanted to round up a few Tweets and share them with you here as we continue to make sense of what the cuts of Michael Turner, Dunta Robinson and John Abraham mean to this football team. I'll have a salary cap implications post coming shortly.
Michael Turner was released by the Falcons... talk about used and abused. #workhorse

If Michael Turner was indeed released...I hope Greenpeace was watching. #Manatee

I Can't Believe the Falcons released Michael Turner! #Falcons #Shocked

#Falcons cut Abe, "Burner" Turner & D. Robinson. DE position is now empty. Funds to resign Grimes & Moore? Searching for tough RB!

I like the moves....we had to let go of the baggage! TD gonna use that extra cap space in an awesome way watch! #Falcons

Not surprised to see Robinson and Turner getting released. Abraham? Surprising. #Falcons only had 29 sacks & he was their best pass rusher.

But all 3 are in their 30s, and the moves save the #Falcons about $16mil they can use to get younger in 2013. @ap_nfl

Per @jasonlacanfora, #Falcons not expected to use the franchise tag. Not surprised. I expect them to try to re-sign Brent Grimes, though.

I'm so upset. Let me go pour my emotions into something for @thefalcoholic.

Still riding with the Falcons regardless of who they cut. They did it for a reason.

John Abraham can still bring heat in a limited role. Had 56 total pressures last season, 6th best 4-3 DE PRP by pass-rushing snaps
