I had been reading most of everyone's posts about what an NFL General Manager does. Some of you know what a NFL General Manager does and some of you don't. Well, here's your chance to know some the choices and decisions an Atlanta Falcons GM has to make. Below is a list of players who's contracts are up this year and as of yet has not been renewed. I would like to hear what type of changes you would make, who's contracts would you renew or renegotiate, and who would you cut. Remember, the NFL is trying to set the salary cap for this year at $121 million so you have to work within those parameters. Also, let me clarify when I say renegotiate for some of you. There are some people that think that a player can be just asked if he can take a pay cut and that is that without drawing up a new contract. That's wrong. If a General Manager and a player agrees to a cut in salary - you will have to state how much and how long. A contract is drawn up to not only protect the GM, the Owner, and the Organization. It also protects the player and gives the player a good bargaining chip when he wants a signing bonus. You can also choose some veteran players contract you might want to try and renegotiate to help with your salary cap. Time to play Atlanta Falcons GM, good luck.
