On the Bright Side

Being a sunny dispositioned glass is half full kinda guy I can see good things for the Falcons in 2014:

They have Ryan, Julio, White and Trufant back.

The defense, even without added players is sufficient. (see explanation to follow)

With two or three key additions on the line the offense can be improved and playing on all cylinders within the first half of the schedule in 2014. This should help the defense as well.

They have bench players with lots of experience - especially on defense - in case they are called into service.

They are in good position in the 2014 Draft. They should probably trade down if they're not gunning for Matthews or Clowney. This would give them even more picks and there is quality in the lower first and following rounds in regards to players that they need.

They have Koetter and Nolan back and one of them may be promoted at some point during the season to Head Coach.

I count 9 winnable games which means they'll win at least 6-8 which is an improvement on this year.

They might have big changes in 2014 around the last week of the season which is always exciting.
