Off season, FA, draft and beyond

Being born and raised in Atlanta, I’ve suffered through following the Falcons' ups and downs for a long time. I remember drafting Bartowski, the Gritz Blitz, seen Tuggle play, was at Deion’s first game and helped open the Dome. However, after reading many of your posts and comments, I’ve realized that I don’t know as much about football as I once thought. Regardless, I’ve decided to try my hand at this type of post and put together my humble opinion of the off season, FA and draft decisions for your reading enjoyment.

Major Wright – SS – 5’11" - 204

DRAFT (PER ROUND)

1 (6th) – Louis Nix – DT – 6’2" - 345

2 (34th) – Antonio Richardson – OT – 6’6" - 327

3 (67th) – Daniel McCullers – DT – 6’6" - 351

4 – Dee Ford – OLB – 6’2" - 240

5 – Max Bullough – ILB – 6’3" - 245

6 – Mason Walters – OG – 6’5" - 320

7 – Zac Kerr – DT – 6’2" - 310 and/or 7 – Jeff Janis – WR – 6’3" - 218

These moves would address many of the current team’s issues. I firmly believe that a strong, competitive team is built from the inside out. Both lines would be bolstered and allow some of the skill players, on both sides of the ball, to make the plays we have craved for so many years. This team has looked bad this year and yet posted their loses by an average of roughly 9 points – including the four consecutive blow outs at Arizona, at Carolina, home to Seattle and at TB. These moves could make major strides in righting the ship for years to come. Your thoughts and comments – fire away.
