This a a touchy subject but when I think about what i would want from the Falcons next year, I dont see Mike Smith here. He's been a fine coach and has accomplished great things for this franchise, he'll definitely go down as one of the greatest head coaches this team has ever had. but i just dont see that killer instinct in him. hes a bit too "soft". When i look at some of the more successful teams around the league, their coaches tend to be no nonsense guys (49ers, seahawks, saints, patriots) who dont care about whether their friend gets a job on their team, or whether their assistant coach's son gets a spot on the practice squad, etc.... All they care about is getting the best players that can fit their scheme ready for games. and thats a recipe for success. Its been 6 years and we seem to have the same weaknesses holding us back every year, a poor offensive line, a horribe D-line, and an inability to make crucial in-game adjustments. I think Arthur Blank is gonna have a tough decision at the end of the season on whether or not to move on from this coaching staff but if it does happen, i hope he doesnt bring in another "Nice Guy".
