According to Georgia, the answer is "yes", and I am truly ashamed. Just look at this: http://espn.go.com/espn/fp/flashPollResultsState?sportIndex=sportsnation&pollId=3979329
People say we're a bad sports town-- well, we've earned that reputation and here is current proof. I don't really have much else to say on the matter, but this bothered me enough to make my first fanpost. How do you think TG or SJax must feel playing for a city that's already given up on them five games into the season? We're not getting blown out by anybody-- these were close games that came down to the end of the 4th, every single one of them. Our football team is a competitive one week in and week out. I've seen nothing that makes me believe we can't go on a long winning streak.
We are, at the very best, inconsistent in the trenches, and that's something not easily overcome. But we have Matt Ryan, Tony Gonzalez and Steven Jackson.
Yes, it's a tough spot we're in and no, I'm not brimming with confidence or even optimism, but to say we should "tank the season" after five weeks of hard fought, close games is downright shameful.
