Went to the practice of those Birds on Sunday... Wanted to say that it was a great experience, and it made me extremely excited for this upcoming year. Yet, one question kept coming across my mind as I was looking at Dominique Franks play wayyyy too much opposite of Asante Samuel: Where in the *&^% is Brent "Optimus" Grimes?
Thoughts immediately went back to his knee injury last year, where he was out for four games. He still was productive, but, losing him in the secondary had a big impact on our defense. I spoke to a few individuals that were out there with me at the practice, and they were just as worried as I was about our resident Transformer: One of the rope crew (The individuals that keep the fans behind the rope during the practice) had the nerve to say that he was possibly not here due to Asante Samuel being there: a possibility that he was being "replaced". Now, I know how this sounds, but, its the truth: someone that claims to know
Atlanta Falcons football let those words come out of his mouth. As some of the other fans around and myself began to educate him on Falcons football, he argued up and down about what he said, and then walked away to take up another section of the rope. Now, after I left the facility, I talked to a few of my fellow Falcon fans, and they provided me with an article that explained the situation fully.

Now, I am worried at the extent of the injury, but, knowing it is not related to his knee from last year makes me feel a whole lot better. Now, If only Corey Peters can get his butt on the field, so the defense can snack on opposing quarterbacks... RISE UP!!!!!
