Falcons Minicamp: Day 1 Notes From Flowery Branch.

I had no plans of going to minicamp today, but my wife picked me up early from work and had a surprise trip to Flowery branch planned. Here are some observations from the minicamp. I was having problems uploading the pics to photo bucket to share in this post directly, I added the link to the pics I posted from my phone to twitter.

1. Julio Jones made some great catches. The play I liked the most was one over the middle where spoon was easily beaten( Pic Here) in coverage. Julio took off after the catch only to be seen in the end zone (Pic Here)

2. Harry Douglas made some nice catches and the offense had different looks with JJ in the slot and Douglas on the left covered by Samuel( Pic here).

3. Meier made nice catches mostly with Second team but he did catch one against Grimes(Pic Here).

4. Defense did a nice job by putting pressure on the offense and Ryan. Dunta Robinson blitzed Ryan (Pic Here) and the result was a sack as Ryan couldn't get rid of the ball. If not for the sack, it would have been a holding call(Pic Here).

5. Defense didn't let Julio have a perfect day. Robinson broke up a pass to Julio as the ball went out of reach of Decoud(Pic here). After the broken pass, Asante was making fun of the offense daring them to throw the ball.

6. Roddy had enough of Dunta Robinson and made a nice catch jumping in the air (Pic here).

7. James Rodgers is quick but looks really small(Pic here)

8. Jerry was lined up with Babs,Abe and the first team.(Pic Here).

9. Snelling looked quick on a screen pass( Pic here) and he was out in the open in no time. (Pic here)

After watching all the action today, September can't come soon enough for me.
