It's early yet, but I'm getting mildly concerned about Lamar Holmes' lingering foot injury.
For those who missed it, Holmes has broken toes, and that's kept him out of practices thus far. It's kept him out of rookie mini-camp and the first three days of OTAs. There's plenty of practices and pre-season games ahead, and Holmes won't miss most of them unless those toes heal particularly slowly or something else goes wrong.
It's still concerning that he's missing time, though. Holmes needed to hit the ground running if he was going to even stand a chance of becoming a starter at tackle this off-season, as slim as that chance was in the first place. Every day he misses is a day when Sam Baker and Will Svitek get ahead and inch closer to staying there. Holmes needs all the help he can get, obviously.
So color me hopeful that he can return within the week. I have high hopes for Holmes going forward, and the sooner he comes back, the sooner we can all see what he's made of.
Your thoughts on when Holmes will return to practice?
