I just read the news that Bell was signed to a five year deal by the Eagles. Earlier this week, the news was that the Eagles had reached out to Marcus McNeill as well.
As I see it, the Eagles were one of the few teams left that had a pressing need at LT. Detroit, which had also looked at McNeil, also opted to go in another direction.
The market for free-agent left tackles has quickly dried-up, and based on the simple law of supply and demand, the price for McNeil has just dropped dramatically. Now, it's still entirely possible that teams are passing up McNeil due to lingering health concerns - but if McNeil is remotely able to play, the Falcons can now probably snag him for a very small price, even if it is only for a one year deal.
What do you think? Will Dimitroff finally make a move and snag this veteran LT now that the market has driven his price down?
