As you recall my first mock draft concentrated on line depth on both sides, this one is a revised one and futher adresses our needs as they become more clear through the franchise tagging process. Some assumptions I am making: Brent Grimes traded for a second to the vikings (35th pick). Curtis Lofton signs away from Atlanta. Jason Snelling also leaves. Mclure is not resigned but Hawley will be starter. Harry Douglas leaves as well. Abe is not resigned. Decoud will not be resigned.
2nd Round 35th pick(from vikings): Lavonte David LB Nebraska
Violent in the box tackler. Read and react player vs the run. Exceptional in pass defense, understands both man and zone concepts. Very smart and hard working player.
2nd Round 55th pick: Vinny Curry DE Marshall
Wont talk much about him as most of you on these boards are quite familiar with him.
3rd Round 85th pick: Markelle Martin FS Oklahoma State
Good in man coverage, best in zone. Exceptional ball reaction ability. Get into run coverage in a hurry. Plays with passion, lots of it (sometimes draws a flag for it). Good student and hard worker.
3rd Round Compensatory Pick: Lardarius Green TE Louisiana-Lafayette
Wont talk much about him as most of you on these boards are quite familiar with him.
3rd Round Compensatory Pick: Brandon Mosely OT Auburn
Fluid, smooth pass blocker. Late Blooming athlete. Good technique, a little raw but has flown under the radar.
4th Round Compensatory Pick: Shaun Prater CB Iowa
Essentially a Brent Grimes clone without the NFL experience.
5th Round 149th Pick: Vick Ballard RB Mississippi State
Wont talk much about him as most of you on these boards are quite familiar with him.
6th Round 182nd pick: Ryan Broyles WR Oklahoma
Typical slot reciever.
7th Round 213th pick: Case Keenum QB Houston
Rojohombre's replacement. Im sure most everyone is familiar with him.
