Falcons Free Agency! HUGE Moves on the Home Front

Stay connected for news and updates

You may have missed it, but the Falcons made the splash free agent move we were all waiting for. Yesterday the team announced that Joe Zelenka, esteemed long snapper and Cleveland native, was locked down for 2012-2013.

I for one am ecstatic. We needed a move like this, and in predictable fashion, The Comrade went out and made it happen.

Joe will also fill in as our 4th string tight end. While he hasn't caught a pass since signing with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 1999, he did pull in 25 passes during his four year tenure at Wake Forest. To that effect, he averaged 8.68 yards per reception. I'm confident he will have an impact in the coming year, as Koetter is sure to use him as part of our downfield attack.

Look out NFC South, Zee Dawg will adorn the red and black this fall!

Lot to discuss here. The specifics of his contract are unknown. I'm sure he didn't come cheap, but let's be honest, you get what you pay for. If you want the best, then you've got to pay for it.

Use this thread to discuss the awesomeness that is Joe Zelenka.
