Your 2011 Worst Atlanta Falcons Player: Sam Baker
There's a part of me that feels really bad about this.
Hope 2012 goes better for you, Sam Baker.

You tell "that" part of you to bite it's tongue!
The only player that could really push Baker in my mind is DeCoud and maybe Dunta but I’m gonna give our CBs a pass due to scheme.

I find it really interesting
That everyone has completely written Baker off. I can’t recall a single person opining that perhaps a new OC and/or OL coach and scheme might positively impact his play. It’s like we’ve all completely given up on him. I find that sad, especially considering how well he played in college.
'Each of us is a mixture of some good and some not so good qualities. In considering one's fellow man it's important to remember the good things ... We should refrain from making judgments just because a fella happens to be a dirty, rotten SOB.' John Wayne, Playboy Interview 1971
maybe
a new OC and Oline coach can revive him, who knows. I was wondering if his ability to play in college was directly related to the talent level around him? He had some studs out there all over that offense. He blocked for Matt Leinart and we see how poor he did in the pros.
Dont cloud the issue with facts!
I don't fault Boudreau for not getting enough out of him
He managed to make a bunch of late draft picks and undrafted guys into a pretty good unit when he had a preseason to work with them. Baker isn’t a bad player but he’s not worth 1st round money. If they’d drafted him in the 5th round we wouldn’t think he’s a bust.
Bloody business
Just had a few emails between me and an old friend whom i sent a link to this poll. He’s an old Falcs fan too, we go back to the 70s when we used to get together on weekends and pray for a miracle when playing out on the west coast vs. the 49ers and Rams… and then party like hell when one was bestowed.
We were discussing the point of having a base-negative poll to pick the worst player of a team. We finally agreed that it doesn’t really matter because this poll is for the fanbase. Players don’t play better or worse based on what we think of them. It’s a business and if you don’t do your job, you catch hell and then, get fired.

Maybe, it's a family thang...
Since Blank came in and turned this club around, we’ve all become this one, big happy Falcon family and we just get all choked up when we lose someone or have to send them to the time-out corner…
Or, maybe not. Don’t listen to me… what in the heck do I know? I thought we were gonna turn the NY Giants into cream corn.

Really wish people coulda saw the real Sam Baker
The guy who mauled defensive lineman all thru his college career instead of this guy who was solid at times and completely outplayed or lost most others.
New defensive coordinator Mike Nolan reportedly plans to remove MLB Curtis Lofton from nickel packages if the Falcons re-sign the free agent.

Len Pasquarelli reports one of the things on Mike Nolan’s to-do list is to get Lofton out of the nickel packages. This will cut his on field time probably in half and thus greatly affect the type of contract offered IMO. So Spoon and I guess Nicholas play the nickel?
I don't like this. Looks like MLB will be one more "need" this offseason

I think they still wanna sign him
just not as an every down backer. Evidently Nolan has gone and watched tape and does not like what he sees of Lofton in coverage. If Lofton feels he is an every down back he will probably go to a team that shares his belief and willing to pay him accordingly. Let’s face it, Lofton ain’t what you call fleet of foot.
I agree
Nolan has been brought in to fix our D. This is the sort of tough decision we can expect to see more of. Will be interesting to see what Lofton does, and if another team is willing to pay him as an every down LB, when clearly he is not. If some team sees him that way, I think he’s gone.
Yeah I'm all about seeing our team inprove
Just hard to imagine a D without the Police. Not saying we don’t want him, I just think his pride could make him take an offer elsewhere

Hopefully he wasn't watching just the footage of him dropping into coverage on a top tier WR!
Ah BVG, how stupid were you? Let me count the ways…
Unless we're not in the nickel 75% of the time.

Haha.
I read the article. That there is some shitty reporting. Not only does he not have a source on which to base his opinion but he also misspelled spoon’s name. I thought this guy was an insider. He’s a hack and given the depth of reporting here I wouldn’t read into anything he says.
Rule #1: Double tap.

Man...it would suck to lose him.

He's still a priority signing so they say.
The offer just won’t be as high IMO. This is a leverage move to some degree.
Somethings Gotta Give
AB needs to re-adjust his contact or cut his ass. Bottom Line
