Around SBN: The Most Dangerous Division in Sports

HD to...

With all the flack of who we need and the draft, I think we have forgot about free agency a little bit in the last few days. Harry Douglas is my subject that I bring to the light here...

Star-divide

I don't know if anybody has thought about the teams within our own division that could try to take a shot at getting HD. I think the most obvious ones to me would be the Saints. (Who Dat? Nation stand up, "no, please sit down") Think of how instrumental he was in our first game against them. Such outings can open teams' eyes. The Saints really might have their eyes on Harry. Marques Colston is coming up on a new contract and I have a feeling he wants a blockbuster one at that. And no question he deserves it, but I am not here to talk about that. NO is going to be looking for a play-maker to at least make up for some of the loss if Colston walks out. I think Drew Brees and HD could definitely do some damage. Plus picking up HD would be way cheaper than taking back Colston. Plus with Brees and trying to keep one of the best linemen in the league(Carl Nicks), they would be smart to look for a cheaper solution if possible.

And another team that could look to take HD, Carolina. They need someone to take some of the pressure off of Steve Smith, especially as he enters the home stretch of his career. Let's be honest, if the Panthers had another weapon on the other side of the field, they would be another level of scary and definitely be able to spread the field for Cam Newton (I HATE mentioning this guy). In a few years, Harry could even be the premier WR here.

And of course, unless you are an idiot you have to mention Tampa Bay. First off, they have no receiving threat (maybe Blount on a screen). Plus they have a promising and young QB in Josh Freeman. And anybody knows that if you want to be successful and keep a guy around, you bring weapons in to help him and take the pressure off of him. Tampa Bay has more pressing needs than WR, but a cheaper option for their offense could be HD.

Overall the point to this article, HD IS A TALENTED WR! Though MM's offense did not showcase him to his fullest. He has the ability to make a difference on any team in our division. And because of his lack of being showcased, he is going to be cheaper than many WR's on the market. I just thought this post would put HD's value to us a little more in perspective. He is going to be a contributor whether he stays or goes to another team. If he goes, I will miss him and best of luck to him.

[P.S. this article was very spur of the moment]

Why HD was not great in MM offense

Because MM wants his receivers to run-run-run-stop-turn-sit-catch-get hit-maybe turn around get 3-5 YAC….HD is best in a run catch on the oblique speed past the nearest CB and make the safety work.

I wonder if JAX fans are reading our posts so they can learn the MM 3×5 play card (resembles nothing of a playbook)?

Dont cloud the issue with facts!

If You go look at Jax SB Nation page...

a bunch of them want HD so bad. I read quite a few posts that mentioned the Jags “needing” him. I honestly hope that he doesn’t go back to MM’s crappy offense. I really want him to stay in ATL.
