Your 2011 Atlanta Falcons Offensive Player: Matt Ryan
Surprise, surprise.
After winning the team MVP award, Matt Ryan put away the offensive player of the year pretty easily. I've been through his case for MVP already, so suffice to say he had a fine season and is the obvious choice for the award.
There's a weird reluctance to give Ryan this award in some quarters, which is understandable if you have a particular attachment to another player. I think it at least partly reflects on the way he's made consistent excellence so wonderfully boring. The man simply does not put up eye-popping numbers, but he limits mistakes and does smart things with the football. With a better passing attack in the offing in 2012, it'll be interesting see how this holds up.
To address a couple of comments I got during the last two votes: Do people want me to add choices I feel should be on the ballot but were not nominated? I'd tend to agree that Tony Gonzalez and Roddy White should at least be on the ballot, but I've been trying to stick purely to who's nominated. Let me know what you guys think and I'll roll with the consensus.
Discuss the choice here.

sounds like the right choice,
Unless Julio has a Calvin Johnson year or Quiz turns into Sproles, or we have a guy on defense get 20 sacks. But pretty much where Matty goes, the Falcons go.
I think you writers should feel absolutely free to put any glaring omissions on the ballot. This is non-binding voting, after all.
On another note….I hope the crazy Adult Swim ads with the masked guy in his underwear go away soon! I check this site at work, yo!

I voted for Turner, but its hard to argue against the Iceman.
As for the voting thing..
As editor of the Falcoholic, u are obviously a fan also. I think it makes since for u to b able to nominate as well. So, while u don’t have to just add them to the list, u can nominate them in the “nomination thread.”
