I'm not at all surprised by this result.

Though the game was not technically played in 2011 or the regular season, it made the nominee list, and that means it counts. The brutal 24-2 loss that launched thousands of angsty rants from Falcons fans was, indeed, a terrible loss. It ended the season, it put the Falcons' problems in sharp relief and it basically ended the Mike Mularkey and Brian Van Gorder era in Atlanta.

So on those merits, it's not a surprise. Unfortunately, this game will stick in our collective craws for a very long time. Hopefully 2012 obliterates the worst of it.
