Projecting Sean Weatherspoon

Photo

Just a quick discussion post for the afternoon, because I'm on the road.

Sean Weatherspoon had one hell of a season in 2011, becoming one of the better linebackers in the NFC over the span of the year. In his third season, he ought to get even better.

So project 'Spoon for us. How many tackles, sacks, interceptions, tipped passes, forced fumbles, fumble recoveries and souls eaten will he accumulate over the course of the 2012 season?

Let us know what you think.

The sad thing is Spoon will continue to be overlooked

because he won’t get the inflated sack numbers of guys like Cushing, Orakpo, and Matthews who all get to go after the QB in 3-4 defenses. Spoon is just as good if not better than those guys but sacks are the only stats people look at. I’m really hoping Nolan runs some hybrid 3-4 schemes.

Cushing?

Cushing tallied the exact same amount of sacks as weatherspoon did this past season and has only recorded 9.5 in his career. Maybe you’re referring to a different Cushing?

Sorry.

I didn’t mean to disagree with you but I think weatherspoon is completely underrated and dumbasses like Cushing shouldnt even be mentioned in the same breath as him. Cushing is a commonly mentioned name in the NFL because of his skin color. And this is coming from a white guy. Why is JL from st Louis such a common name also? I know I might have drifted off topic, but I have strong opinions about #56 and I certainly don’t want him to be underrated.

I like the character...

of Cushing. No doubt both him and Spoon are good LB’s. I like both Cushing and Spoon. Cushing just has a “dgaf” attitude to him. Spoon has the ability to eat souls. I think they would be a killer LB squad together.

Lol, I should have just mentioned Cushing when referring to Spoon being overlooked by lesser players

Cushing definitely doesn’t have the high sack numbers but he gets far more recognition than Spoon

A notable distinction should be made

while discussing Spoon and Cushing.

Cushing is part of a beautifully constructed D Front Seven that is easily in the top 5 in the NFL.
Spoon plays among a Front Seven that is clearly flailing in water over its head and is no better than in the bottom 1/3 of the league. It makes for completely different prism to evaluate them through.

I love me some Spoon.I hope we’re going to get him some help.

I’ve never been able to hear Whitney Houstons performance of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl without balling my eyes out.I can’t believe she’s gone.

AND IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

Hello NFL teams, are you in need of a SB ring. Is your 9-7 or 10-6 team that barely slipped in to playoffs needing some help, well, beat the Falcons and you are guaranteed a SB berth!

I made a joke on Twitter and got reamed for it.

I said “so Jeremy Lin killed Whitney according to my time line” didn’t even bring up crack and I got killed by the same people who haven’t even listened to her since 1994. Everybody wants to imortalize crackheads and child molesterers after they die WTF is wrong with people.

Exactly...

I see no reason to praise somebody that doesn’t deserve it. I also don’t believe she deserves the label of being a “legend.” That term is getting thrown around too much. Her and Amy Winehouse lasted longer than I thought they would. I have never listened to Whitney, even though me being born in ’93 might be the excuse for that.

Just means there cannot be a tie.

Over-Unders are usually in the X.5 category, so there cannot be a push on the bet.

I think 43 is a little low – Spoon has a large appettite and a larger eating utensil.

I'm not sure about you all

but I think whether Lofton comes back or not impacts heavily on ’Spoon’s performance.

It most certainly does

make a big difference in that and other areas.
