There is a ton of MVP talk around Peyton Manning and Tom Brady even though Ryan is right there with them in every statistical category and he has a better record. I throw most of Brady’s stats out the window because they do run the score up in an unsportsmanlike manner every chance they get, unlike Ryan and Peyton who have always had a respectful (read: non-arrogant) coach to guide them. Here are the stats:
QB rating: 4th (Rodgers/RG3/Peyton—Alex smith is ahead of him but he is no longer a starter so he doesn’t count and Brady is 0.1 behind Ryan right now 100.2 to 100.1 so that could move Ryan back a bit).
TD’s: 4th (Brees/Rodgers/Peyton—Brady could pass him by the end of the week).
Yards: 2nd (Stafford—only 2 players to play this week tho and after the week he could be 5th behind Brees, Brady and Romo).
Completion %: 1st (once again, behind Alex Smith who no longer starts) at 69.0% which is such an awesome number that he should win MVP on that sexy number alone! 2nd place is Peyton at 67.9% and the great Brady? He is stuck 8 behind Ryan at a 63.4% rate.
Team record: 13-2 #1 seed in NFC and only the Texans have a chance to have a better record (if they win both games and we lose a game). The Broncos could end up 13-3, which would be the worst we could do but we would have a better record due to the tie breaker of us beating them.
The only stat he is doing poor in is INT’s and he is down towards the bottom of the pack: He is in 15th place behind full time starters, which is tied for 9th place due to all those with 14 int as well as those above him that are tied at 6, 10 and 12 interceptions (I took out all those that have not started 11 games or more)
Ryan needs to be recognized by the media more. Period.
