Can you think of a better tandem in recent memory? Moss and Carter? Wayne and Harrison? Holt and Bruce? Brown and Rice? I might take our two over all those combinations. Both could literally kill you with ANY of the 9 possible routes a receiver can run. Roddy's stops, curls ins, and digs render most zones ineffective. Press and jam him at your own risk. Julio can blow your top off with any deep post, fly, or corner, but wait, he can outrun your whole team after catching a quick out or a drag. But be conscious of the screens, reverses, and now Koetter lines him up at HB and pitches it to him. What the f&@k are you to do as a Defensive Coordinator? More and more, it looks like you just have to hope and pray you stop the running game, limit Tony, and oh yeah, your LBs get to cover Quizz in the wide open field. Matt is outstanding. If Mike Nolan wasn't here, we most certainly wouldn't be 8-0. Leadership from top to bottom in our franchise is top notch. But its looking more and more like these two receivers are the key to where we want to go. The million dollar question in the NFL as it stands today is how do you stop these cats? The past 8 Defensive Coordinators we've faced will tell you "You don't.". Enjoy them while you can. We are truly privileged to watch a receiving corps, X and Y anyway, without flaw.
