Falcons Have Just Over $1 Million In Cap Space

Denny Medley-US PRESSWIRE

The team is unlikely to move big pieces at the deadline.

The Atlanta Falcons were never particularly likely to be big movers and shakers at the trade deadline. They haven't been under Thomas Dimitroff, period, and there's no one out there who really looks like an awesome fit for this football team.

Oh, and add this to the reasons: The Falcons are just over $1 million under the cap.

We've known it was in that neighborhood for a while, but I figured it would be a helpful reminder that it's probably not going to be an eye-popping day in Atlanta. If anything, the Falcons may chase a cheap piece of depth at a relatively weak position, like linebacker or tight end.

Full discussion thread's coming in about an hour. Use this to tide you over and to talk Falcon finances.
