DeCoud is having an outstanding year, but not him. Dimitroff. Many people don't realize we're 5-0, missing 3 starters on all 3 levels of defense: Peters up front, Tatupu in the middle, and Grimes in the back. These 3 were all expected to make key contributions. They all go down at different points early in the season, yet we don't miss a beat. In spite of it, Walker and Jerry are maturing. Dent can learn as he goes. Dunta seems rejuvenated by getting his starting job back and playing opposite a similar guy, almost competing against each other to see who can defend the most passes or lay the most wood. Dimitroff's run hasn't been flawless, but it almost has. The guy is simply a football genius. He'd probably make a better coach than some of these guys who've been doing it their whole life (Romeo Crennell anyone?). I just love the way the guy goes about his business. The way our roster gels right now just shows how cerebral he is and leaves no stone unturned in the event of injury. I fully expect him to add more depth at LB, TE, and probably snag a solid backup QB next season. I thought for sure letting Lofton go was a huge mistake. Shame on me. If Dimitroff says he's a two down backer and not worth a big contract, dammit I should believe him. Something tells me he wont play games with Spoon, though. Besides Matthew of course, he's the player we have that most other team's without Bowman and Willis covet, so he'll get what he's worth and a little extra. Mike Smith and Mr. Blank of course are instrumental in our franchises' turnaround, but selecting 'Troff for GM is arguably the greatest thing to ever happen to the Falcons. The guy's scouting and team building is just exceptional.
