I can't begin to describe how excited I am about the Falcons moving to 7-0. I have been a Falcons fan forever, and have suffered thru alot of painful season, playoff lossess, and 1 Super Bowl loss. This year, so far, is different. The offense is performing outstandingly, and our defense is getting better.
Now, while I am a Falcons fan, I'm also a football fan, and I see flaws in our team that need to be fixed if we want to be a SB contender. Michael Turner/Jacquizz Rodgers, two completely opposite style running backs, need to get their game together and start getting more yards per run. We need a real running game, not one just to keep the opponents defense confused. Julio needs to catch the ball more. It's not like him to miss as many passess as he has been this year. Matt Ryan tries to squeeze some passess in some pretty tight spots. It works for him, but it scares me.
The defensive line is doing great, and now with Corey Peters back our rush defense will be better, so I'll leave that alone for a week or two to see if it improves like it did yesterday. The secondary is great, but they try to make to many big plays, and it's worked out alot in the recent games, but it can also hurt us going up against a team like the Giants, or possibly the Cowboys. I would rather you just tackle them, rather than try and get a big hit then miss. Injuries need to go away, Weatherspoon is still unknown right now, but we can't afford to lose him, not with Grimes already out.
Overall, I'm pretty impressed with our team this year, and while I would love to see them go undefeated all the way thru the SB, I would rather them lose 1 or 2 games in the regular season so they get a wake up call and realize they aren't immortal, and then go undefeated in the post-season.
I've noticed alot of people still don't believe in us, if it were the Patriots 7-0 it would be all over ESPN. Who cares? We true Falcon fans know how good we are, and that should be all that matters. We came into this season as NFC South underdogs, predicted to finish 3rd, and now look at us. Now we are the team the bandwagon is heading to, we are the top dogs right now.
