O-Line Amnesia

I'm sure many Falcon fans are pretty pumped about the season already and I am too. With that said, I am still not sold on this O-line and was upset that the Falcons did not address the O-line enough. With the Falcons playing the Eagles, I hope the O-line can show me something to change my view.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers the game against Philly last season but the Philly's defensive front destroyed our O-line. T. Cole had a monster game and almost single-handedly destroyed the line, mostly S. Baker on every down. M. Ryan was running for his life and this is the same o-line from last season. Some may say that S. Baker has been playing better this season and that is partially true. However, the O-line has struggled against good D-lines and failed to pass protect. Does anyone remember the career high 7 sacks allowed game this season?

I will give credit where credit is due. The O-line has done a decent job for the first quarter of the season with the exception of couple games. With that said, I truly believe that we need to get in better linemen next season and have L. Holmes and P. Kontz a shot as well.

It is the QB hits allowed that worries me. The Falcons were in the top 10 for QB hits allowed with 84 in 2011, ranked 7th to be exact. The risk of injury for Ryan only increases if the O-line continues to allow alarmingly high QB hits. What do you guys think? Do we need to address the O-line? Or Do you believe the new line coach will fix the problems?
