Crap! Crap! Crap! this postseason sucked for us. Only scoring 2 points in a playoff game? Really? A shut out would have been better. This team look lost. The D came out playing with emotion but sadly the offense didn't seem to vibe off that same emotion. This offense is too talented to come up so short in BIG games. All year this has been the case including the ass whooping we got at the Super Dome. How do you lay a egg on national T.V. against your hated rival? I fear that Smitty has lost this team and a HC search might be in need. I know Smitty was TD personal choice and it's highly unlikely that they fire him. He has earned some leeway due to his success in the regular season but he has to have this team prepared better.
Now to TD. He is one of the best GM's in the league but his drafting style concerns me. Sometimes it seems he is to fancy in trying to find gems in the late rounds while passing on high risk- high reward prospects in earlier rounds. I would like to see a little more risk on players that are a little less than the "high character" standard we set. He also reaches sometimes( Baker, Dent, and Hawley to name a few) and for some reason refuses to add decent depth across the board. I have always been a person who believes in drafting the best player available regardless of the position. If you can accumulate talent the needs will fill themselves out.

The main 3 priorities will be Abe, Grimes, and Lofton. Obviously you sign the 2 younger players in Lofton and Grimes and hope Abe settle for less money to stay. Hope.
Now the draft. I will most likely do a wide variety of mocks targeting different players for different scenarios. This team needs seem to be clear but as I stated before if you can get a better player any position can be a need. Talent wise we are above average but that doesn't mean we couldn't use more. The lines seem to be the main priority. O line play has caused MR to hit a speed bump in his progress as a QB. The D line and its failure to get pressure has stunted MS from having the defense he wants.
This team has something wrong with it. From a distance it looks like we are making progress but the uncanny short comings in big games is a giant issue. You play to win the game as Herm Edwards so articulately put it but no postseason win is unacceptable for a team with this much success. Has this team reached its peak? Is this team as good as we think they are? Does this team actually have a short term solution that would give us any hope that this team could go deep in the playoffs and possibly win a SB?
These are just a few questions that need to be addressed this upcoming offseason.
