Broncos-Steelers Open Thread

If you want to talk about something other than the Falcons, here's where you can do it.

Will it be Tebow and the Broncos? Will it be the Steelers? I don't care, but probably some of you do.

Go to it!

If Tebow gets a playoff win before Gonzalez

I will kick a puppy and punch a small child, whilst illegally downloading the Godfather.

That’s it for me. 5-30. Im tired as hell, and its about 8 hours too early for me to start drinking. See you all tomorrow for my last day pretending to care about football til September.

I am done with football until next season lol.

Now to turn my attention back to the NBA and MMA

regarding liar and a charlatan

compare him with the other guy “Big Ben”. Not a big fan of Godboy, but if we are comparing liars….let’s frame it in some perspective

by ATLol on Jan 8, 2012 6:24 PM EST up reply actions

yeah,

One guy rapes a girl and the other doesn’t support her right to abort the baby

nygmen123: Again, without Vick or Maclin, or Cromartie. Injuries don't seem to bother them. They just bring in guys to make plays
nygmen123: Stopped the Pats on the first series. Planted Brady twice. Guess what gang? This team isn't quitting. Or making excuses.
Simms-McC: Yeah -- I wish the Giants were more like the Eagles
nygmen123: In intensity and fight? Right now, so do I.

Oh Man

Tebow could get a post-season win before Ryan. Now I’m depressed.

Its true. I'm a Falcoholic! I just can't live without Falcohol!

The Broncos have scored more points than us

Against the best defense in the league.

I think I'll cheer for Denver

just because everyone counted them out

Atlanta will win a championship....someday

They’re like us, if we didn’t just roll over and play dead.

Q: If not us, who? If not now, when? A: The Batman. And "when you least expect it."

It’s almost as if Tim Tebow is doing a better job as an NFL QB than Matty “Ice” did today.

Q: If not us, who? If not now, when? A: The Batman. And "when you least expect it."

by Lennox on Jan 8, 2012 6:13 PM EST reply actions

Almost?

He scored a touchdown. Even if they lose, he wins.

by Starrk on Jan 8, 2012 6:36 PM EST up reply actions

I find myself cheering for Godboy

I cant help but think of the sharp contrast to the other QB and his off field allegations

by ATLol on Jan 8, 2012 6:19 PM EST reply actions

why I am not a fan

you know I never really hear anyone call godboy lazy or arrogant. He has had plenty of time to learn proper throwing technique, yet he is too confident and hard headed that he does not have to do the things everyone else has to and he can just coast on talent and faith. Arrogance.

by ATLol on Jan 8, 2012 6:32 PM EST up reply actions

His technique is awful

it takes him about 10 seconds to wind up and release it. However they were able to design an offense that makes it work. We have a pro bowl qb and can’t draw up an offense that works. Shame on us for settling as long as we have.

by Hutch11 on Jan 8, 2012 6:43 PM EST up reply actions

This game is making me feel a little better

Plus the reality that we might have a real oc next season.

by Hutch11 on Jan 8, 2012 6:32 PM EST reply actions

Jeez.

On one hand, congrats to Tebow for proving his haters wrong. On the other hand, screw us for not being able to win one freaking playoff game.

But really, can the people on this site stop bashing Tebow now? If you’re a both a Falcon’s and UGA fan, they should have nothing to say about him. At Florida he mostly humiliated you guys. Even in Denver, he’s topping us (in a way).

by Starrk on Jan 8, 2012 6:39 PM EST reply actions

I'm just enjoying an upset

after hearing all week that Denver didn’t stand a chance it’s nice to see them taking it to them

by Hutch11 on Jan 8, 2012 6:41 PM EST up reply actions

Don't think most people really bash Tebow...

there’s just still a little bit of good ole fashioned SEC hate going on.

by falconnuke on Jan 8, 2012 6:41 PM EST up reply actions

I am rooting for Tebow also (at least over BigBadBen) , but you have to admit he has had plenty of time to learn the QB position better than he has. He has more talent than Matt Ryan, but does not work hard at the cerebral part of the game. Look at Cam Newton and how much hard work and listening to the coaches can benefit. Why does Cam get so much more undeserved criticism than Tebow?

by ATLol on Jan 8, 2012 6:57 PM EST up reply actions

That's the point

He left 2 seasons ago. Time to get over it.

by Starrk on Jan 8, 2012 6:55 PM EST up reply actions

they automatically assume

that passes are forward passes, and that when the ball is knocked from a qb’s hands the Tuck Rule applies

by falconnuke on Jan 8, 2012 6:45 PM EST up reply actions

It's crazy

just don’t blow the whistle if your not sure, you can’t go back after you blow the whistle but you can if you don’t blow it. Why do we have to put up with such consistently bad officiating

by Hutch11 on Jan 8, 2012 6:48 PM EST up reply actions

I'm a Vols fan

trust me, nothings’ worse than the officials super-willingness to blow whistles. Or needs I remind everyone of this unfortunate “controversy”

Is Reid still a possibility as OC

I would love that!

*Something About The Falcons, Braves, Hawks or Atlanta In General*

by InMattWeTrust on Jan 8, 2012 6:46 PM EST reply actions

Reid, I'm sure

has this idea in his head that he’s either HC or commentary

by falconnuke on Jan 8, 2012 6:47 PM EST up reply actions

I like the coaches for both teams

But I really like that old school JohnFox is making some noise again in the NFL

by ATLol on Jan 8, 2012 6:47 PM EST reply actions

Oh look,

Steelers can convert a short down. You see what they didn’t do? Run right up the middle

by falconnuke on Jan 8, 2012 6:58 PM EST reply actions

MM has some weird obsession with proving his team is macho

by ATLol on Jan 8, 2012 7:02 PM EST up reply actions

Anyone watching this game

was that not holding? I feel like I don’t even know what a hold is anymore.

by Hutch11 on Jan 8, 2012 7:22 PM EST reply actions

who knows

it’s not like the NFL is internally consistent, anyways. I always through that every time you can see someone’s jersey clearly being stretched it was a hold.

Based on recent officiating, clearly not.

by falconnuke on Jan 8, 2012 7:26 PM EST up reply actions

you know it's bad

when people born and raised in Atlanta tease you for being Atlanta sports fans. So much that they band wagon every other team except Atlanta teams

Atlanta will win a championship....someday

by maxxj3 on Jan 8, 2012 7:31 PM EST reply actions

Not #1

Don’t see this fakuns team winning a Superbowl, after suffering through Jed Clampet’s ownership, Jethro’s management, the alternating coaching carousel of circus acts and incompetence – I truly appreciate the current organization

by ATLol on Jan 8, 2012 7:41 PM EST up reply actions

This

I was born and raised here, and I can count on one hand all the Falcons fans I know. I know more Steelers fans from Atlanta than Falcons fans. My boss was born here, went to school and college here, and works here, but is a Saints fan (band-wagoner). And these people generally either make fun of me when I tell them I root for the Falcons. Those who don’t laugh just feel sorry for me.

Though honestly, I can hardly blame them.

i did not know you were allowed to do anything but play PreVent Defense

Still imagine if he had someone that could design an offense as well as the one they have designed for Tebow.

A partial list of active qbs that have more playoff wins than Ryan:
Mark Sanchez
T.J. Yates
Joe Flacco
Phillip Rivers
Tim Tebow

I wonder which MM they would choose after this weeks games. (Bronco’s OC is Mike McCoy)
