Most Early Mock Drafts have the Falcons taking Stanford TE Coby Fleener in the 2nd round. Q: Just who is he?
A: The most NFL-ready tightend in the draft.

My only question is
how does this guy make it to the second round. He looks nasty.
Probably...
would love to draft this kid!!
Did anyone notice the play where he lined up at FB and ran the ball in…hahaha…that was awesome!!

Damn, he looks like Jimmy Graham on the field
He has great hands, runs solid routes, has fluid hips and is fast for a big white guy. I like him.

My only thing is,
that there will likely be a run on TE’s because of the success of Gronk, Graham and Hernandez.

Your probably correct...
but we can always hope!!
He would be an excellent replacement for TG and would get lots for good advise and pro-level skills playing under TG for the year…

Even teams with a good TE might make a run
seeing what New England does. Depending on how he does at the combine, we might have to trade down, or trade a player to grab this kid. But I think we should do what it takes. Adding him to the offense would be huge. Even if we have to sacrifice some older talent.
Still, if he is too far out of reach, the safe pick is a center to run our O line for the future.

Maybe they'll run right on past some good OL then so we can snatch them
Technically the glass is always full. 1/2 air. 1/2 water.
I've watched this kid's highlight reel like 7 times from start to finish
I haven’t done that since 2000, when Mr. Electric was a draft prospect.
Nice
But how accurate are draft predictions, in any round?

I think this is our pick. I had a vision.

I'm serious man lol.
I never remember my dreams but a few nights back I had a dream that I was talking to TD. He said they wanted a TE 2nd round. I said Fleener was a beast and matched all of TD’s criteria: smart, Sr, no character issues, productive. Then I woke up.

I'll sell my season tickets
Given the compelling needs on both lines of scrimmage,if the Falcons use their 2nd round pick on a back up TE,all hope for the franchise will be lost.
I don't want to hang my hat on a rookie for those positions of immediate need.
Both lines are loaded with young guys already. TD and Blank already said they were going big in FA. It is safer to pick a guy for development instead of expecting him to Cary the team, to me that’s a luck deal. We have such a late pick but if this guy is around he’s the best pick logically. There may be an impact OG still around at that point but at that pick it’s easy to get a dud therefore making the Coby pick a wise one.

He's still living in the lockout days
Where there’s no free agency before the draft. How the hell could this franchise be lost by picking a tightend in the 2nd round of the draft where good tightends usually get drafted?
Who do you think we should go after in the draft?

This sort of boarders on ridiculous!!
The line issues will be handled in FA, we need “now” players, not developmental ones!!

Like who?
Who will likely be on the board when we pick that’s gonna be a right now player? You realize that is not likely? This years draft is a wash. If we can get anything of value out of this draft I’ll be happy but I’m not counting on it. I like how we got JJ and I was expecting this years draft to be a wash. We will be seeing huge splashes in FA this year.

I think you read me wrong...
that IS what I was saying…we will be handling the OL and DL in FA not the draft as we need already proven players, which we will get in FA. I like the draft for kids like this TE and since we will not have a 1st round pick we will not be getting any NFL ready players this year (and even if we did there is still no guarantee we would get an NFL ready player).
I was saying what dawg1060 was bordering on ridiculous, so…we agree there Hawk…lol

Yes you can get NFL ready players that deep in the second and third round.
Especially OG, OC, RT, safeties, RBs, TEs, LBs and DTs. Where you probably won’t find NFL ready players is at QB, CB, LT, DE, and WR.
Maybe...
only time will tell.
Yes, I do believe THIS particular TE is NFL ready regardless of the round taken…so, point taken.

Reminds me of Gronkowski
They are very similar in size and both put up almost identical stats in the pac 12. Gronk only dropped because of major injury concerns and still only fell to 42. Depends on the combine but I see him going in the first 10 picks of the second round. Would be a great addition if he could game where we are picking.
I wouldn't count on that.
We’ll probably look at a TE in the 3rd round. Someone like Michael Egnew out of Missouri
