I'm not going to comment on the recent charges against him
but, even as someone who has very little interest in college football outside channel surfing, it is clear what a great football mind and what a figurehead he was. I’m sure this will only re-open the can of worms re: recent events, but I feel for his family who have gone through a lot in only a short time.

The telling thing about JoePa
It’s not the football stadium or gym or anything related to athletics at all on Penn State campus that’s named after him. It’s the library.
It's Great! To be! A Tennessee Vol!
I live 20 minutes fron State College, PA
I’m no Penn State fan, and have no reason to like anything about Penn State.
There are no charges against JoPa. There are against Sandusky, and he is a piece of garbage.
The Penn State administration is despicable. JoPa has a long reputation for making his players put family, school before football. Has for 60 years. Most years JoPa gave much more to the school in donations for scholastic programs than they paid him in salary to coach a program that generated millions in revenue for the school. JoPa was fired in a horrible way by the adminstration (a note delivered by an assistants assistant, and a phone call). It is tough to watch him go out this way. You can see he is horribly sorry this stuff happened on his watch, and he always – always – would deflect the attention away from his situation, and to the true victims by Sandusky. I believe it killed him.
I think he was the victim of this truth: “All it takes for evil men to thrive is inaction by good men”
I truly think he was a good man that did not act, and he knew that, at the end. He did what was required by law, but should have done more.
