Dont Panic Falcons Fans

Over the past 3 years every time I had a doubt about this team, Management stepped up and set my mind at ease. However, This time there is no quick fix. You cannot find a tackle out on the street that is going to improve your team after week 3. I think this is what scares us the most.

Yet I still think we'll be just fine. Our defense is fine, yes BVG can be questionable at times, but overall this is a unit that forces turnovers and is solid all around. When babs gets back I see no reason why this defense won't be a top 10 defense if not better. However that's not where our problem lies.

The offense has been brutally bad, Matt Ryan has turned the ball over too much, Julio and Roddy have both made mistakes, and MM's play calling has been questionable at best. But, there is no denying the talent in this offense, Tony Gonzalez has proved to all his critics that he's NOT washed up, Julio and Roddy have displayed, at times, the immense potential they have together, and Turner is still the same great back he has been the past 3 years. Matt has also showed great toughness through these first few games, which is good to see.

Nevertheless, if the offensive line does not produce, all that means nothing. Through Matt Ryan's first three years in the league he has been sacked 59 times, this year he is on pace to be sacked 69 times. Are they that much worse than last year? No, they returned 4 of the starters from last year, and the same system is in place. Is Matt Ryan going to be sacked 69 times? Hell no, Even Jay cutler was only sacked 52 times last year. Yes, Sam Baker is bad. But the offensive line was still productive with him the last 3 years. Going into the year, the offensive line of Baker, Blalock, Mcclure, Reynolds,  and Clabo looked pretty good, and there's not much reason to believe it wouldn't be this year. Considering the only change is Reynolds, who isn't totally awful, they should get on track. There does not need to be a huge shakeup or change. Offensive Line is all about working together, its early in the year and I have no doubt this team will get it together.

I have faith in this team, I have faith in this regime. Don’t panic too much yet, it’s a long season and I believe that the problem in the offense line is comradery, not lack of talent. I am yet to see anything from the new regime that shows they’re going to lay down now. The "Rise Up" this franchise has been talking about will happen, it's just a matter of when.
