Falcons-Seahawks Series History

Stay connected for news and updates

Hi, For those who care, this is the fourth installment of my weekly series looking the series history of the Falcons 2011 opponents, this week, it's the Seahawks.

The Seahawks lead the all time series. 8-4, with the Falcons winning the last two, a 44-41 jousting match to close the 2007 season in the ATL, and the 34-18 drubbing of the Ospreys in Seattle last season to close out the road portion of the schedule, and the three week road trip.

First time these teams got together was in 1976, with the Seahawks winning their second game ever as a franchise, 30-13 in Seattle. For us who were around in 1979 (such as myself) the MNF game in October was memorable because of the stuff the Seahawks pulled in that game, which was pretty cool, if you ask me. Most of these games have been medium to high scoring affairs.

My favorite was the 1991 closer to Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, a 26-13 Falcons victory, and a playoff clinching victory.

As for this Sunday, this is a game the Falcons need, and I think they are clearly the better team. I think they'll win, but will not predict a score. Next week, I'll have the Packers on the slate.
