Snelling to the...Cardinals??

I know, I know...all of you think I'm crazy because of the title.  We just signed Jason Snelling back and we're all excited about having him as our safety to MT.  However, my mind, as strangely as it operates, began conceiving gremlin type thoughts about what if we signed him as trade bait for another team???  More speculation after the jump!

Okay - so we've all had a moment to consider my proposal at the top.  Yes it seems ludicrous, but could it actually happen?  Let's evaluate the team positions:

The Falcons coaches and our respective players have all discussed how great Quizz has looked in camp and we can see the smallest man on the field churn out some yards.  We've discussed him being our 3rd down and change of pace back and it's seemingly a great idea as he is everything that MT is not.  We have Antone Smith (although his future appears bleak thanks to his fumbled return) and Gartrell Johnson should we need a 3rd back.  We will carry Turner, Snell, Quizz and probably relegated Johnson to the practice squad.  We have plenty of depth albeit unproven.  However, with our receivers, it's very easy to imagine that our game plan being balanced enough for there to be holes for any back to run through.  Could this make Snelling a little bit more expendable??

Now here are the Cardinals situation:

Beanie Wells, who is clearly injury prone, is the clear starting back in Arizona and has Coach Whiz in his corner.  But look at their back ups...it was rookie Ryan Williams but he's out for the year with a ruptured patella tendon.  Their back ups are now La-Rod Stephens Howling and Alfonso Smith.  Although both have displayed decent burst, it is doubtful the Cardinals staff think they can carry the load if Beanie were to go down.  Enter Jason Snelling who has proven to be more than serviceable when MT went down and given his size, looks able to carry the load for the team with a change of pace back.

With rumors that the Falcons are going to make a big move abound, perhaps Beau Bock considers this to be a "big move" by the Falcons.  Was a move in anticipation by the FO?  Are we looking to regain some of the bounty we traded for JJ?  The beauty of speculation...I don't have to be right, but so long as you stopped long enough to say "Hmmm..." I've done my job!

Let the speculation being!!
