Harvey Dahl was a great guard who played with an attitude even bigger than he was. That's why he became a fan favorite, and that's why I'll always remember him fondly.

Farewell, you magnificent bastard.

Nothing shocking here...

Hopefully this means we can make a run at Blalock…

by Schuang0385 on Jul 29, 2011 3:17 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah...

He was a good player for us.

Unfortunately, someone had to go. Good luck, Mr. Dahl.

Now, let’s sign Blalock! If not, then TD’s a stupid dumb!

I do too...

“[Insert Name] is a Stupid Dumb!!” perfectly encapsulates the ignorance and/or impatience of many fans (myself included) about a given situation, especially when said impatience and ignorance culminates with impulsive posts on SBNation, Twitter, Facebook, or, alternatively, late-night, drunken text messages.

Not really surprised but why is St Louis all over our players

Some yards are better than no yards

That takes away 2 "Unnecessary Brutality" penalties per game.

I really liked his nasty attitude, but I won’t miss the Captain Drivekill personna.

Hello? Mr. Blalock? ...Yes sir we would like you to come back.

TNT should've treated Lebron's return to Cleveland game like 2k11 and cut the game off after the Cavs were down by 30. lol

Kinda stings, but

Atleast he went to a team I /like/, and one he will have an impact on.

that made me reread it and – yes … yes it does sound like an obituary.

Mike Johnson will most likely be the new starter at RT.

Which I’m perfectly okay with. Since I know that he’s a beast of a lineman. I watched him play at Bama.

by MentallyMIA on Jul 29, 2011 3:51 PM EDT up reply actions

is it possible...

We’ll ever see Clabo move to LT and Baker over to RT?

Hey now!

by Ball Hawk on Jul 29, 2011 4:00 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Clabo would probably struggle at LT

Look what happened to the more athletic Oher when he moved from RT to LT.

by Mosugo on Jul 29, 2011 4:03 PM EDT up reply actions

the reason I bring it up...

Is because I heard that Buffalo was going to play him at LT had they landed him. So i’m thinking “Um, why don’t we do that”.

I don’t hate Baker… I mean i haven’t been amazed by him, but I do think he’s getting better. But he seems like a much more logical fit for the RT position.

by cheshire falcon on Jul 29, 2011 4:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Were they?

That’s surprising. Their O line is completely terrible though. Baker does seem to be a more logical fit at LT, and considering how Clabo shut down Clay Matthews in the first GB game perhaps it could work. But I think the coaching staff would have done it by now if they planned to. Also, Clabo’s contract is very clearly a RT contract so I doubt he’d be happy moving to a premium position after signing a non premium contract.

by Mosugo on Jul 29, 2011 4:05 PM EDT up reply actions

yeah, you're probably right

Just throwing it out there. It would be odd if I was the first person who thought of that :)

by cheshire falcon on Jul 29, 2011 4:09 PM EDT up reply actions

Nope, it's a good idea

Hopefully Baker will improve this year. If not it might be time to look at a new LT.

by mwalex on Jul 29, 2011 5:59 PM EDT up reply actions

I think

that’s more a product of the Bills having a really bad O-line
Clabo’s skill set is more of an RT
Baker isn’t great, but he gets the job done

Not. Fair.

by FLA_Falcon on Jul 29, 2011 6:22 PM EDT via mobile up reply actions

Wow.

How do you scheme for that? If you run 2 WRs, it let’s Philly do a rotation. I’m not sure 4 WRs would make things better either. Hmmm…

Smokey says: Only you can BVG forest fires.

by VaderX5 on Jul 29, 2011 7:03 PM EDT up reply actions

they're not keeping all 3 of them

Would be WAY too expensive. Even 2 of them will be too expensive.

I just heard the Eagles are already entertaining offers for Samuel.

by cheshire falcon on Jul 29, 2011 7:06 PM EDT up reply actions

My guess

Is that Philly trades one of the 3 CB’s…most likely Asante. Either way, we play these guys in 51 days. I hope JJ is truely ready, because Roddy is going to be covered.

by grg on Jul 29, 2011 7:07 PM EDT up reply actions

throw in the middle of the field or run the ball

That’s what is so strange about this move to me… they had already addressed their secondary by getting DRC. They needed more help in the LB corp and on their defensive line, but now they made it difficult to address those needs.

I mean yeah, their secondary is awesome now, but so what if your LB and defensive line can’t do anything? Those were major weaknesses for the Eagles last year, and I don’t think just getting Jason Babin fixes it.

by cheshire falcon on Jul 29, 2011 7:12 PM EDT up reply actions

looks like their weakness TG needs to be ready

Not a fan of FA

I hate losing Dahl. The FA concept embraced today prevents any team ever again creating a dynasty… but it also spins the pro game around on its ear and makes teams almost as unpredictable as those in the college version. There’s not the continuity needed to build a team under the team concept.

The days of players spending the better part of a career with a single club, that could then build talent with familiarity into a team, are now long gone.
