SB Nation Atlanta Editor's Pick
GET TOGETHER: Panthers at Falcons Oct 13-17 Weekend
I mentioned this in passing in the Friday Night Open Thread, but wanted to post this out in the open to see if there is any interest.
Every year since 2000 or 2001 the members of the Atlanta Falcons Message Board have arranged a weekend to gather, have some fun, and attend a Falcons game. This season (and we are assuming this game is happening) we selected the Panthers at Falcons (Oct 16) as the game to build around. We have already contacted the hotel and the ticket office to arrange some group rates, so all that work is done.
What we typically put together goes a little something like this:
Friday - Beer/Brewpub bar crawl, dinner.
Saturday - Beer/Brewpub crawl #2, cookout in the hotel parking lot with beer, food, music, etc.
Sunday - Gameday. Tailgating optional.
Every year has been a blast. We've had people in from Australia, UK and Canada. I'll be making the trek from PA yet again. I felt this was a good opportunity to invite some Falcoholics to join in the festivities. Check out the hotel and ticket info at these links:
Hope this is OK to post here, and hope to see some new faces to hoist some beers with!
If you have any questions, let me know.

I'll be in Athens then
and that’s my birthday weekend! I might be down for this, assuming school doesn’t break me.

Hear, hear!
"It's a great day to be great, baby!"
"Here I am, brain the size of a planet,
and they ask me to pick up a piece of paper.
You call that job satisfaction?
'Cause, I don't."
The Munsters of the Midway still suck!

Oh, HELL yes!
Color me in, Duff_Man. I’m in Gwinnett County, so the travel’s out, but I’d love to put some faces to the handles.

wish I could make it folks, but...
I plan on attending the games around me this season, so i will be attending a lot of road games of the Falcons this year, I might go to one home game, we’ll see. I plan on attending the games @ chi, Ind and maybe Det. But, if somehow i can swing going to Atl to see a game I will try to make it the Panthers game.
@Chi, @Ind,@Det SIMPLY AWESOME !! . All are within 3.5 hours of me.I'll probably be supporting the birds from the sidelines of all 3 of those this year. I am getting so excited about the first game of the season, everybody I work with are Bears and Colts fans. It's gonna be sooo sweeet this year, taking all their money!! bwaaha haha haha
Glad to see the responses...can't wait for game weekend! BEER! FALCONS!

and Duffman, I'm assuming you already know about 5 Seasons...
The Prado location (Sandy Springs) also has a TacoMac & The Fred nearby…
IMO, this is the best beer in the South…
We hit all those last year.
We also hit Brickstore in Decatur and Hop City!

That's cool! I haven't lived in town in so long, I don't even know about those.
I’ll totally have to check them out. I’ll give you a heads up if I can make it. I was considering going home for a week in the fall. It’s only about 10% chance, but a chance anyway. Cheers.
What about SweetWater?

I would love to make an attempt at this...
Though I’d have to fly… and I hate flying- not because it scares me but because I love to drive so much.
I could try to make this possible… fly in thursday night.. fly out monday. I’ll work extra hard for some extra funding for this. I think I can pull it off.
Might still end up being cheaper than a laker game…. those tickets can run $200 for the “cheap seats”
At least I don't have to drive to Dallas and try to sneak in Superbowl XLV anymore....
