Chris Owens Flatly Denies Wrecking Ex-Girlfriend's Apartment

I didn't exactly expect a tearful confession or Chris Owens fleeing the country, but I thought it was good to get his side of things on the record.

As a reminder, Owens stands accused of wrecking his ex-girlfriend's apartment and her worldly possessions. His ex claims he poured bleach over her stuff, and where the two have a child together, this is a bit of a delicate situation.

Owens, who has himself an attorney, fires back by accusing his ex of trying to hold him over a barrel because he doesn't want to be in a relationship with her, by taking away his son and going to TMZ. I honestly don't know who is telling the truth here, and I'm not going to pretend I do.

The important thing now is that this gets resolved in the fairest way possible, and hopefully as quickly as possible.

How this affects Owens and the Falcons remains to be seen. If the charges are dropped, Owens should walk away unscathed. But if any of these allegations prove to be true, it's far from certain that he'll be wearing the black and red in 2011.

Remembering that I like measured, respectful discussions, what do you think?
