When you trade your draft pick cow for some magical receiver beans, you want to be pretty sure you're getting the better end of the bargain.
So when the Falcons traded a king's ransom of picks to get Julio Jones back in April, they wanted certain things. Talent, definitely. A willingness to block, yes. Somewhere amongst that, they were looking for someone who was ready to contribute right away.
If you can think Jones isn't ready to be a good player for the Atlanta Falcons right now after reading this, then I don't know what to tell you. The maturity, the exuberance, the ability to jump up above Brent Grimes and catch a pass. Not that I'm advocating he does this often, but Jones is even going up and crashing back down for catches.
"They tell me to stay off the ground, but it isn’t in my nature," said Jones, the former Alabama standout. "If the ball’s over there, I got to get it."
I don't know about you, but that warms my heart. Do you think Julio's early effort will translate into early success?
