Pat Yasinskas is reporting here, from Jeff Schultz here, that Blank has approved pay-cuts for some of his non-player/coach employees. This just seem out of character for Blank. I know most owners are doing this, but Blank depends on hiring smart, loyal, all around "good" poeple, and claims to protect those assets by doing right by them. This IMHO is not doing things the right way. I honestly think all owners should keep paying their office staff fully throughout the lock-out. The owners chose this path (No, i don't want to get into a debate over if the players forced their hand; I actually side a bit more with the owners than most (my boss would fire me just for asking to look at the company books to determine if I should get paid more, but i digress....) and the billionaires can obviously afford the operating costs. Maybe they won't like it, but they can afford it.
It's funny how the poorest (and I say that tongue-in-cheek when speaking on millionaires and billionaires) owner in the division, Jerry Richardson, seems to have found a way to get this right. Another report from Pat Yasinskas here confirms this, albight possibly at the cost of team performance. I in no way want Blank to take money from player contracts to pay his employees, but you have to think he could've gone about this differently. Too bad. Seems a black mark on what has been a very good record as of late for our "beloved" owner.
What you guys think?
