Falcons-Panthers Series History #2

I'm posting a day early this week, due to family stuff that needs to be taken care of. The Falcons lead the all time series, 21-12, going back to 1995.

I'm not going into details on any of the games, with the exception of the one played at the ATL on October 16th, which saw the Falcons winning, 31-17. The Panthers hung in there for one half and part of the third quarter before the Falcons started to apply a little defensive pressure, and forcing Cam Newton out of his game, committing a couple of turnovers, which the Falcons took full advantage of.

Okay, now for this week. Big game for the birds as they go to CAR this time around. The Panthers defense is pretty beat up, I hear they are down to the nubs on some postions. The Falcons need to establish the run game, against a horrible run defense, so thay can set up the pass, and quite possibly this time be able to complete the plays by CATCHING the ball! Should these things occur, they'll be fine, as long as MM gets his head out of his butt, and let the offense loose, and please do the hurry up, because it simply works for us, and let Matt run the ship, please. I expect the defense to come up huge in this one.

Newton is scary, but is mistake prone, and I think the d will force some TO's and get a couple of sacks. As for a score prediction, I think the Falcons will win, but it depends on which team decides to show up. If it's the one that flogged the Colts, I say the score is 38-14 (Yes,really. This team is due to blow someone out.) If it's the team that beat the Titans and Vikings, I say 34-24. If it's the crap team we saw last Sunday, it could be a long day. I really don't see the Falcons losing, there's way too much on the line, and they need to take care of business. They do that, they will be in the playoffs. Any help is appreciated, but I would like the Falcons do it themselves, it's more satisfying that way.

Next week, the post will probably be on Monday or Tuesday, because of the Thursday night date at the ATL against the Jags.
