Why there will be an offensive explosion on Thursday

Although, this thursday night game against the Jags isint the most exciting game on the schedule there is one story line underlying the game that will be extremely crucial to the future of the falcons.

As we were made aware by Adam Schefter's tweets, Mularkey is one of the leading candidates along with a few others for the Jaguars Head Coaching job. This thursday night game will essentially be his interview. Just as draft prospects have pro days to showcase their talents, Mularkey's day will be thursday. Now for all his faults (and yes he has many faults), I do believe that when he wants something (like this job), or when he needs to, he can call mind blowingly brilliant games. I'm a firm believer that Mularkey wants the Jags HC job bad, and that he will put up an offensive bonanza for his potential employers on thursday.

Why Mularkey and the Jags are made for each other

The reason is simple. Jags want an experienced coach that will maximize Blaine Gabbert's talents and utilize MJD's awesomeness, and they dont have a large amount of money to do it in. The monetary aspect rules out Cowher/Fisher types, and even some high profile college coaches, so your pool is limited to coordinators with little to no HC experience. Mularkey has a decent amount of HC experience, and will not ask for too much money.

What to look for on Thursday Night

#1: Matt Ryan will be showcased. Formations, audibles, deep throws, the whole kitchen sink. This is to show the Jags what could be done with Gabbert in the future.

#2: Turner will run some. This is kinda obvious why he wants to show this, although look for a lot less into the middle of the pile runs.

So what can we take away from all this?

First, lets all hope we blow up on the Jags, not just for the win, but also so that they fall in love with Mularkey and help us get rid of him unfortunately take away such an asset away from the falcons. Second, as sure as you expect severe bowel malfunction after eating bad thai food, you can expect explosions of the offensive variety from this game. Yes, you are welcome for the imagery.
