I'm a little early this week, due to the fact that this game is on Thursday!
The Jaguars lead the all time series, 3-1, going back to 1996, when the Falcons lost that first encounter at JAX, 19-17, when Morten Andersen slipped on the grass trying to kick a GW FG and knock the Jags out of the playoffs. Other then that, the rest of the games have been rather boring, including a 21-14 Falcons victory to close the 2003 season.
Now for Thursday. Big game in the ATL for the Falcons. Win, be 9-5, and looking good for the postseason, and 10 days to rest before the 12/26 in NO. I expect Tony Gonzalez to have a huge game on Thursday. I feel it in my bones, can't get it out of my head for some reason, and that's a good thing. Matt Ryan is on fire, and I also expect him to keep it going with another 300 yard effort. Michael Turner I think will break the 100 yard barrier in this one. Take your pick on the WR's in this one. Roddy, JJ, Harry. One of these dudes is going to bust out here. The D will be beastly, led by Spoon and Co.
Hope they bring pressure all night on Blaine Gabbert. The crowd better "rise up" for this one, and make it so loud in the 'Dome that the Jags can't do anything. Predicted score: Falcons 31-Jags 13. I'll miss this game due to the fact that my six year old daughter is participating in her school's Christmas program. No worries though, I'll DVR the game to watch it later, and my Falcon fan friends Kash and Aces wil be texting me throughout, and have the car radio as well. After the game on Thursday, it will be time to rest and relax, watch the games that affect us, and enjoy a Christmas break of sorts for 10 days before the big game in NO on 12/26. I'll be back on 12/23 with the Falcons-Saints series history #2.
Until then, Go Falcons! One more thing: We are overdue to domiminate someone for 60 minutes. Hopefully, this is the game we do it!
