After a pathetic first half, the Falcons looked likely to lose the game. After all, they were down 23-7. This Falcons team has so many flaws that it appeared all but over even to the most optimistic among us. For the first time this season, I legitimately gave up hope.

Then something weird happened. Something wonderful. The Falcons came out at the half and made adjustments. They came out angry and playing like their season was on the line. But commenter GTbacker predicted the Falcons would come blazing back and mark a turning point in the season, while Alkior predicted two picks for Cam Newton. Both came true, and when the dust settled, the Falcons had somehow won the game 31-23 and run their record to 8-5.

I think it's safe to say that this was one of the crazier games of the Mike Smith era.

I will have much, much more in my recap tomorrow, assuming I can figure out how to write about such a bizarre game in a coherent manner. Until then, let's celebrate. The big questions can wait a day.
