Im posting this because I have seen alot of negative talks about the rest of this season, which is very understandable in the midst of a bad loss. However, I am an optimistic person and have not given up on the season and I'll explain why.
I think it is very plausible for us to win out. Every one is is agreement our toughest two games are the texans and the saints rematch. As for the texans with the news schaub is out for the season this game gets easier. They still have a stout run game and emergent defense. However i believe the game will be close and since we have a good run D we will force the texans to throw at some point and I don't think Matt Leinart will make the plays to beat us. For the Saints I have faith we will win one for the mere fact we lost this game and in the way we lost it. We beat ourselves, we have the capabilities to beat the Saints and I think we will.
Realistic expectations are that we drop one of those games and end up at 11 and 5. And with the saints going on a bye then playing the giants it is very possible we will be tied for first again in 2 weeks. Basically, with a lot of football left to be played we control our destiny and have all the talent needed to make a run. And if we do get it together we will be a very dangerous team because we will be hot at the right time.
All that being said there is something about this team this year that wouldn't surprise me at all if we drop a game we shouldnt and take ourselves out of the playoff hunt. How we go from the least penalized team last year to giving the performance we had yesterday. Matt Ryan inconsistency. Soft Zone on Defense. Lack of offensive creativity. Lack of Pass Rush. Part of me thinks Roddy hated the Julio trade and this has been the reason for his implosion.
But only time will tell. Thoughts?
