Around SBN: Why We're Skeptical Of LeBron James

Never too early for a Mock

This by NO MEANS means I am giving up on this season. I repeat I am not giving up on this season. I just like drafting. Might make it a career but anyway here we go.

As of right now we would be middle of the draft most likely at 14 or 15.

2nd: Matt Reynolds/OT/Pitt.: I have been thinking this 1 over a bit. As much as I want to grab a DE were stock piled at that position. The fact being I don't trust Baker to protect Matt's blind side for years to come. Reynolds will be that man. He is big, strong, and has quick feet. He also has a mean streak which I know Smitty likes. He is coached by the same guy who groomed Logan Mankins and he has compared him to Logan often.

3rd. Eddie Whitley/FS/VT: Ahh remember the good ole days? When we drafted Hokies with almost all our picks. Well here we go again. I think its time for a change at FS. Decoud gets beat often, takes bad angle, and often misses tackles. Whitley is a ballhawk and has good instincts.

5th: Ladarius Green/TE/Louis-Lafayette: Another steal in the 5th. Here is Gonzo's successor. 6'6, 230lbs and has great hands. He runs like a WR and is a mismatch for any defense. Reminds me of Jermicheal Finley.

6th. John Brantley/QB/Fla.: Redman is getting up in years and we need to start to groom a reliable back up. Brantley has nice size, arm strength, and accuracy. He also has improved under Charlie Weiss's pro style offense. Brantley was injured earlier this year and might be tempted to stay another year.

7th. Brandon Bolden/RB/Ole Miss.: Jason Snelling was only signed to a 1 year deal and I don't think he will be retained after this 1. Here is his replacement. He reminds me of Snelling and Starks a little. He is a big back with soft hands and is athletic enough to hurdle opponents. He should be a nice addition to our rotation.

So this is my early mock. I know the big problem is the coaching staff but a quick look at upcoming players never hurt.

It's so early

But I will say that I wouldn’t mind this at all. Brantley’s a guy I like a lot.

Couple of points

1. This year’s class has a lot of LT talent. However, most of it (atleast the ones much better than Baker) will be gone by the time we draft. It will be interesting to see how the Comrade handles that one. We may move into the 1st round if someone drops or we may just find a solid LT in free agency.

2. We will most certainly draft a TE this year as Gonzo’s replacement. However, I haven’t seen that many TE’s who have stood out. I have a dream of getting Orson Charles from UGA but that may never happen. I don’t even remember if he’s eligible to enter this year.

3. I like the late QB and RB picks. I’m pretty sure TD can find some talent in the late rounds to shore up those positions.

2nd or 3rd round pick will go toward Te.

Even if TG stays, which I think he will, This is the easiest position to upgrade on our roster. Other than that, I dont expect too much. We have many, many free agents to sign back at the end of this year.

Agree...

I think we will hit this area real hard considering the low number of draft picks!!
