Michael Jenkins is a Top Ten WR
...in terms of Falcon career leaders.
Over the past 7 years MJ has compiled enough receptions, yards & TDs to rank as our 10th best WR ever. I know, I know...that is depressing and shows just how difficult it has been for the Falcons to draft and retain quality WRs. I also know we probably should draft a talented young WR to replace him, BUT let's at least give the man his due. Which is, he has accomplished as much or more than 200+ other WRs who have worn Black and Red over the past 40 years. At this point he is definitely one of the best #2 WRs the Falcons have ever had.

I think Jenkins is one of those guys...
…that will only be appreciated through the lens of his entire career.
Year to year he’s inconsistent and he’s never been elite, but I think history will show him to have been a quality option.

True, he is one of the better #2 options for the Falcons...
But those are the old Falcons.
The new Falcons need to have a much better #2 WR

Granted he hasn’t lived up to the 1st round draft pick status, he has been exceptionally average with the occasional glimpse of promise that lets him get by with another so-so year…BUT he is a great blocker and since we are a run 1st team You can’t really complain.

Well...
After going back and reading how it was broke down earlier, I have to retract my statement. I trusted my eyes a little too much…
offensive scheme and play calling effect Jenkins
Offensive scheme and play calling have as much to do with Jenkins’ being under appreciated and/or over valued. Jenkins can go deep and outsizes defensive backs, but it matters little if the Falcons rarely attempt passes longer than twenty five yards. While he’s dropped a few “easy” receptions over the years, Jenkins has also made some spectacular catches.
The real question to me is can Harry Douglas he be a productive receiver? His 4.33 forty yard time is enviable, I marvel at the size, elusiveness and interchangeability of the Packers’ receivers each of whom seem to be able to play any receiving position. Keep an eye on Wisconsin tight end prospect Lance Kendricks who can block and has the speed to stretch the defense. He could be a third round bargain come draft day.
I think Jenkins positves outweigh his negatives
He was the one that caught the ball to win against the Ravens.
He was the one that caught the ball to win against the Bears in 08.
He was the one that caught Matt Ryans first pass.
You look back, and you’ll see him drop a lot of easy passes. But it seems like
he’s the guy for them in crunch time.
