The Leagues Underrated Rookies

Is it just me or does NFL.com blatantly ignore some great rookies? I appreciate most of the rookies they focus on are very good players and deserve the attention but there are others that don't deserve all the hype. I may be wrong and maybe I don't see it when these players are talked about but from what I can tell these guys are mostly ignored.

LaGarrette Blount - In my mind Blount should be a rookie of the year nominee, I know he is talked about alot but still, an undrafted rookie who led the rookies in rushing and got over 1,000 yards (5.0 average) and made the Bucs a multidimentional team. Without Blount I dont think they have a winning season. This was also without being a proper weapon until week 7.

Javid Best - I have barely heard his name since week 2, sure he didnt play nearly as well since week 2 but if you look at his totals 555 yards rushing (3.2 average) 487 yards receiving (8.4 average) and 6 total touchdowns. Sure I know its not amazing numbers but you would think he atleast deserves some credit especially when playing on a team filled with injuries.

Carlos Dunlap - For me he is the best player to be ignored on this list. He had 9.5 sacks (0.5 sacks less then Suh) and he only played in 12 games and didn't start a game. He led the Bengals in sacks and was 2nd in rookies. Behind him and Suh the next best rookie was Lamarr Houston with 5 sacks. He had a a few multiple sack games yet I never heard him be mentioned once. Since week 12 he has gotten 0.5 sacks or more. If given a starting position I think he can become a ferocious pass rusher.

T.J. Ward - I acctually found out about this guy looking up rookie stats to prove my point and he stood out. He has 123 tackles as a SS for the Browns, 1st in tackles as a rookie and 14th in the league (2nd for a SS) . He was a 2nd round pick and even has 2 interceptions to his name and one FF and 10 pass deflections.

Others include: Jordan Shipley (2nd receiving yards), Alterraun Verner (2nd tackles), Jason Pierre Paul (T-1st FF, T-4th sacks), Dez Bryant , Marc Mariani (1st Kick-off returned, 25.5 average)
